Co sourcing is way forward for UK law firms

UK law firms are experiencing major benefits as the practice of co-sourcing employees grows, according to leading managed services supplier, CCE.

Co-sourcing allows firms to access in-depth and specialist expertise in the form of dedicated outsourced employees who are generally located on the client's premises.  The benefits for law firms include additional flexibility and access to wider resource pools of capable, customer focused technicians.

Derek Kindercliff-Jones, Head of Enterprise Services, CCE, said:

"Law firms have specific requirements that make co-sourcing a very attractive option.  They have an overriding requirement for flexibility to allow lawyers to provide seamless bespoke services to clients.  The expertise provided by co-sourced employees allows them to do this in a very cost-effective way."

One law firm taking advantage of co-sourcing benefits is CCE client Osborne Clarke, one of Europe's most respected and dynamic law firms.  Two years into the relationship, Osborne Clarke has found that co-sourcing provides more than simple day-to-day support.

Nathan Hayes, Head of Infrastructure and Technology at Osborne Clarke, explains:

"Co-sourcing has saved the day on more than one occasion by providing immediate, expert back-up when we needed additional support.  On one occasion when we had exchange issues, CCE enabled us to resolve the issue before our lawyers were even aware that there was a problem.

"The experts provided by CCE also help us refine our processes and the service we offer as they are incentivised to challenge the way things are done, using their experience to help us develop best practice."

Osborne Clarke sees clear benefits in a close relationship with CCE, as the ever-growing understanding between supplier and client allows CCE to tailor its service to Osborne Clarke's ever-changing needs.  Nathan Hayes continues:

"We originally selected CCE because they understood the legal market, they wanted to take a partnership approach and they were willing to invest in training their employees on legal specific applications.  Our constantly developing relationship means that CCE is able to provide ever-more specific solutions for us."

Derek Kindercliff-Jones concluded:

"Co-sourcing provides the flexibility and expertise that law firms demand and is likely to become more and more attractive over time.  Our track record in building relationships with firms like Osborne Clarke has led us to develop specific law firm expertise and we expect to expand the number of co-sourcing relationships we have with UK law firms in the near future."
